No regulations will be made by the Government for junk food industry and this was made clear in the ongoing week. There are a number of snacks in the market, including chips, biscuits, pastries, pizzas and many more, which could be made with less sugar, salt and fats.
We are surrounded by a number of high-caloric snacks, which has an unhealthy effect on the nation's people. The companies should take it seriously and initiate making low-caloric food. But it costs companies a lot, so they want to continue with the same old high-fat content products. Taking an example, the mega-calorific frappuccino-style drinks sold in every high street's coffee franchises and people buy it even at the cost of their health. So, it's better they themselves start taking it seriously as what to eat and not.
Junk food, with high amounts of sugar, salt, fats and other hazardous contents, poisons the body slowly, making it addictive to the stuff.
David Kessler, the former US Food and Drug Administration Commissioner who was the man behind exposing the tobacco industry, stated that fast food industry show how high fructose corn syrup and other additives that make food hyper-palatable are clinically addictive.
So, it's needed that Government should take a step ahead to save its nation's health, where people are dependent on so much of junk food.
