People who know about the Company's plans say that it has been discussing yet another source of revenue generation and think of this novel plan as a ‘Promoted Tweeter’ product, which highlights definite user accounts that is designed to boost follower counts.
There are some understandable possibilities that Twitter could charge users based on the quantity of followers they intend to acquire, or simply based on the exposure their Twitter accounts received.
Twitter would not acknowledge plans for the product in any way. Spokesperson, Sean Garrett, via an e-mail, informed that the firm will eventually have full suites of both endorsed and commercial products.
All the gears of these two buckets of creation have yet to be determined. Some are at present undergoing testing phase in public now while some more would be tested in sometime.
Basically, the corporation is waiting to get some external response on the stated plans and would accordingly proceed.
If something positive is seen, then Twitter would represent a change in attitude for the company, which has usually frowned on third-party firms that assure to build up follower counts—albeit. Twitter itself encourages definite accounts for free, via a modified edition of its ‘recommended user list’.
