Breast Cancer Risk May Drop with Fish-Oil Supplements

Breast Cancer Risk May Drop with Fish-Oil SupplementsA new study has claimed that the ingredients of fish oil can effectively cut down the risk of developing breast cancer. However, it added that the findings need some more justifications for recommending the patients to start consuming the pills.

The scientists from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center analyzed as many as 35,000 postmenopausal women living across Western Washington.

They discovered that the respondents who were given omega-3 fish-oil supplements developed a 32% resistance to the development of breast cancer.

Yet, lead researcher Emily White said that it is not the right time to allow the patients to easily consume the ingredients.

“Supplement users may have healthier lifestyle. Or they may have other underlying health conditions”, she said.

In order to recognize the exact factors and the advantages of the fish oil ingredients, which lead to a reduction in the tumors, the team needs to undertake a deep study as well as trial on these supplements.

A couple of other studies have claimed that diet rich in fish contents can reduce the onset of a number of cardiovascular diseases like stroke, heart attacks, etc.

In another development, Harvard Medical School researchers have kicked off a new study including more than 20,000 people, in order to determine the benefits of fish oil supplements.
