Giving an overt indication of what Microsoft’s Kinect motion-sensing system – which launches November 4 - will cost, Wal-Mart Tuesday unveiled a special $200-priced Kinect package, which the company has now made available for preorder.
Going by the information forwarded by Wal-Mart, the Kinect package that it will offer includes – the Kinect sensor (earlier called ‘Project Natal’); one Kinect game of the buyer’s choice; as well as a $30 eGift-card that can be used exclusively for online purchases from Wal-Mart.
The six games, out of which buyers can select any one, being offered ‘free’ by Wal-Mart as a part of the Wal-Mart Kinect bundle include: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”; “Kinect Sports”; a dance game tilted “Kinect Dance Central;” a racing game titled “Kinect Joy Ride”; an adventure-camp game titled “Kinect Adventures”; and “Kinectimals,” a game that allows players to collect and interact with virtual animals.
Along with the ‘free’ one game of the buyer’s choice, Wal-Mart will also allow customers to order additional games if they want. However, for the additional games, the buyers will need to pay their full cost – which may range between $49 and $59 -; though the gift card can also be used for the purchase.
Meanwhile, users who wish to try out the Kinect – which Microsoft is offering for a $150 “estimate” price – can do so at Microsoft locations in Scottsdale, Arizona; San Diego, California; Mission Viejo, California; and Lone Tree, Colorado.
