Jetstar hopes to start flights between Australia and the popular New Zealand tourist destination of Queenstown. Jetstar is a completely owned subsidiary of Qantas Airways Ltd. and aims to start the service from the month of December.
Initially, the flights are expected to fly twice every week from Melbourne and the Gold Coast and these will be day flights. Jetstar is also keenly looking forward to start a night flight to Queenstown.
Jetstar is hopeful that the adoption of Required Navigation Performance (RNP) technology will ensure that all its aircrafts will be able to make night landings easily. The airline is optimistic that by implementing the latest technology, it will be able to make night landings at the Queensland airport.
At the same time, it is hoping that better facilities will be provided at the Queenstown airport that will facilitate the operation of night flights. Jetstar feels that by adopting the latest technology, it will also ensure that delays and diversions due to adverse weather are reduced considerably.
Jetstar hopes that better connectivity will make sure that more people can visit New Zealand and Australian tourist destinations. It will be offering a one-way fare of $99 from Queenstown to Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
After the flights by Jetstar start, it aims to grow this route significantly and also offer great value and savings to its customers.
