According to a recent report, it will now be possible for the users of iPhone 3G to jailbreak their phone on iOS 4.0.1, which has been recently launched for the users of iPhone 4.
This will be made possible by employing Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5.
Comex is also about to unveil its new jailbreak tool, and after that jailbreaking will be made possible on all iOS based devices.
The users can follow certain steps in order to successfully jailbreak the phone.
The first step is to make a folder on the desktop and assign a name to it. Then, the downloaded files should be put into the folder. Further, the iPhone should be connected to the computer and RedSn0w should be started from the folder.
The Redsn0w will then ask the user to choose the firmware. The user should browse to iOS 4.0 ipsw rather than browsing to iOS 4.01, which is the next step.
The third step is to check the option for Install Cydia in the other window. There will be many options like multitasking, wallpaper etc. After choosing the options, the user is advised to click on the next button.
The next step is to switch off the iPhone while ensuring that it is connected to USB port. Then, the iPhone should be set in DFU mode by pursuing the instructions, which appear on the screen.
Thus, after following the whole process, your phone will be successfully jailbreaked. The entire process will take around five to eight minutes.
