According to the experts, almost 50% of New Zealand men over the age of 40 have erectile dysfunction. This problem is creating intense stress and problems in their relationships. ED also leads to low self esteem in a person, as he cannot even get his partner pregnant.
But, the main issue of concern is that out of all, only 5% of them discuss and look for treatment to solve this problem. ED sometimes can also indicate problems like heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure, due to which there is no blood flow to the penis.
Other than these diseases, if a person is undergoing the treatment for depression and high blood pressure or is in the usual practice of drinking alcohol and smoking, he may face the problem of erectile dysfunction.
Experts also say that sometimes cycling also causes ED, as there can be the case of nerve compression.
Treatment for erectile dysfunction may include changes in lifestyle, medicines for blood vessels and sometimes even hormone replacements depending upon the reasons, like psychological or physical health related. Those facing the deficiency of testosterone do not have any other option, other than going for hormone replacement.
