Lam’s Family Make it to the Pie Awards this Time Too

Pat-LamThe four times award-winning pie maker family of Pat Lam, is nowadays seen sharing its recipe secret with the fans.

Lam received the award for making the most delicious meat pie in 2003, 2004 and last year.

When this was not enough, the expert made to the ward again this year for the best bacon and egg pie.

He also received an award for his vegetable pie last night. He sells the pies at his Paetiki Bakery in Taupo.

Lam received a bronze level award for mince and cheese pies, following which his sister-in-law Fiona Duong made it to the gold level in mince and gravy category and a bronze in chicken and vegetable group.

In 2007, Mr. Ho, the owner of the bakery in Taupo, received the Supreme Pie Award.

Everyone is now wondering as to what makes the family so proficient at making pies. The secret recipe is being eyed by many among the fans and the rivals.

"It's a big surprise. We never thought we'd win again. Don't make it thick, make it light and easy to effort. Nice and puffy and ensure lesser crumb", Lam said.
