In a clear indication of revival of economy, unemployment figures dropped last week with a large number of people who applied for unemployment benefits declined during the period.
Confirming the fall, Social Development and Employment Minister Paula Bennett termed the move positive, cautioning against any type of complacency.
She added, "I'm naturally cautious when it comes to weekly unemployment numbers, because there can be variation between them." Bennett added that there were 90 fewer people received unemployment benefits. However, people continued to sign up for registering to avail such benefits.
The latest Hays Quarterly Report, meanwhile, has established that skilled people are still in demand and some companies are looking for more hiring.
