Jetstar had recently declared to have additional flights between Wellington and Auckland. The airlines move has been appreciated by the Wellington Employers' Chamber of Commerce.
The Spokesman of the Chamber, Charles Finny, disclosed that for financial growth of Wellington, it is necessary to have better transportation links.
Finny also highlighted that these flights would be instrumental in increasing the number of visitors to Wellington and it would also give more options to the people residing in Wellington to fly to Auckland.
He revealed that the organization is optimistic that it would carry on expanding the flights to and from the region. He added that he is hopeful that the trans-Tasman flights would begin soon.
Chief Executive of the budget wing of Qantas, Bruce Buchanan, revealed that the service would start daily from December onwards. In April next year, it will also start a three times a week service to Cairns.
Mr. Buchanan revealed that over the last year, the demand in New Zealand has witnessed a drastic increase. He said that the Company is keen on exploring new prospects as well as new routes.
Buchanan also expressed the desire to have a common border between Australia and New Zealand.
