City Council Spends $186,000 on Leadership Courses for Its Employees

Manukau-City-CouncilAccording to a recent report, in the previous year, the Manukau City Council used a sum of over $186,000 on the leadership courses for its employees. These courses are carried out at a luxury resort close to Queenstown called Millbrook.

Sources reveal that the Council will function only for the next four months. In November, Super City will take the place of the Council. This amount is twice the sum spent in the year before that.

According to the Chief Executive of the Council, Leigh Auton, Manukau Council is committed towards developing its staff.

These courses were organized by the Institute for Strategic Leadership. The per-head cost of the course was earlier promoted to be $19,265.50. The numbers were released under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act.

The cost of accommodation and meals is $2503. The luxury resort is one of the best alpine golf courses throughout the world.

The Herald had disclosed in June that four senior employees had gone for the course.

Mr. Auton disclosed that there have been major restructuring in the organization and therefore, the staff needs to be managed properly. Moreover, in the present scenario, it is important for the organization to have high performance levels.
