Michael Browne, Chief Executive of the Datacom group is reported to have died of an apparent heart attack that occurred over the weekend. He is survived by his wife Sue along with three children Fraser, Ashleigh and Cameron.
However, the IT Company made an official announcement of the demise of the 47 year old, today, claiming that he was riding on a mountain bike, when he suffered from a heart attack on Saturday.
"Michael has had an extremely successful career. During his 18 years with Datacom he built up a strong network of clients, colleagues and friends, all of whom are shocked and deeply saddened by this tragedy", quoted, Datacom Chairman and majority Owner John Holdsworth, in a statement.
Now, the post of the Executive Chairman of the Company will be taken over by John Holdsworth. Also, he would take over Michael's responsibilities with the assistance of Datacom's Directors until further notice.
Mr. Browne has been a part of Datacom's Australian and Asian businesses since 1999.
The news was intimated to the Company's staff members via an email that went to all staff on Sunday, claimed the group.
