2degrees has launched 3G network for its mobile customers. Even though, it has launched attractively priced offers, they may not pose any risk to Telecom or Vodafone.
The newly launched offers include $20 for 500MB of mobile broadband data valid for a period of 30 days. The other plans include $50 for 2GB of mobile broadband data valid for 60 days. The costliest plan will charge $150 for 10GB of mobile broadband data, which will be valid for 90 days. Users also have the option of using the current $6 for 50MB of data casual deal that will also be valid for 3G customers.
People using excess data will have to pay 10c per MB for the mobile broadband data plans and 50c per MB for $6/50MB plan.
2degress has pointed that mobile broadband data plans will work only in the areas where it has its own cellsites and infrastructure. These areas include Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.
In all the other areas, where customers have to roam, they will be able to use only the $6/50MB data plan. The Company will also be expanding its 3G network across New Zealand.
While 2degress will not allow BlackBerry to run on its network, it will allow Apple iPhone 4 or iPad 3G on its newly launched 3G network.
