Jetstar Demands from Australian Government to Ease Border Processes

Jetstar Demands from Australian Government to Ease Border ProcessesTrans-Tasman carrier, Jetstar has demanded from the Government of Australia to ease the local immigration checks and passenger charges levied upon traffic coming via New Zealand.

The carrier said that each and every individual will be able to reap benefits with the scheme.

The flight all across the Tasman takes no less than 3 hours, out of which, passengers have to spend almost similar amount of time to check in, go through customs procedures, immigration and then quarantine and further reversing the procedure at the other end.

Bruce Buchanan, the Boss of the carrier said that the whole process was an incredibly bureaucratic one. He said that there was a need of a better and time-saving process.

Jetstar has requested the Government to stop charging for the outward bound immigration checks for New Zealand bound traffic.

Access Economics study has estimated that if the border controls between the two nations are dropped, the return fares would fall at an estimated A$76.

The number of passengers flying would see an increase by almost 13%, and along with that, an added 1500 jobs would be created, which would be an employment support.

In such complex times seen in the monetary scenario at the moment, an adoption such as this one would be of great help.
