Sony to Give Away Slim PS3 with Bravia TVs Under Promotion Plan

Sony Bravia TVs Under Promotion Plan

Under a revived promotion scheme, Sony Australia is all set to give away 25,000 Slim PS3s with the purchase of the company's new range of Bravia TVs. The promotion will be launched beginning Thursday, October 22 and will only be available on Bravia TVs retailing between $2,199 and $8,499.

The promotion scheme has made a comeback this year, and Sony hopes to do better than the last time when only 50% of the allocated total was redeemed in the time available. The move back to the plan to use a PS3 as an incentive for customers to purchase a Bravia LCD TV has been initiated by Sony Australasia in hopes that it would revive falling Bravia TV sales in the country.

Talking about the scheme, Sony Australia Deputy General Manager of Consumer Products Marketing, Toby Barbour remarked, “Entering the Christmas period after a year of financial pressure, now more than ever consumers are looking for quality purchases that deliver value for money. With a Bravia LCD TV, not only are you buying unparalleled manufacturing quality, but you also now have the confidence of knowing your investment is supported by our extended 3-year warranty promotion. Our Bravia LCD TV, PS3 and extended warranty combination is undoubtedly the best offer we have ever had in the market".

Although last years’ similar offer by Sony, which came just before the Beijing Olympics, was very successful, some controversies did arise when consumers were left waiting for months to get their PS3 with various Government Fair Trading bodies stepping in to help consumers get their gaming console. Sony looks to avoid any such debacles this time.
