As per a new research from Expedia. co. nz, New Zealanders tend to spend more time in surfing the net than the waves when they are holidaying.
About 500 New Zealanders were surveyed by Expedia. co. nz, which is the world's largest online travel Company. The survey revealed that 13% Kiwis browse through the internet five times a day when they are on holiday and
24% expressed that they access the internet once in a day.
About 18% shared that they did not use the internet at all, when are enjoying their holidays. Kiwis use the internet for different purposes like for checking their bank balance to ensure their holiday finances. Some of them surf the internet as it proves to be a useful travel guide, as one tends to know the information of the destination. Moreover internet provides information pertaining to recommendations for restaurants, activities, etc.
Some want to keep in touch with their family and friends and some want to have a look at the status updates on Facebook and Twitter. About 51% Gen Y New Zealanders update their Facebook or Twitter status, while holidaying, as per the Expedia research. They keep checking social networking sites every hour when they are on vacations.
