According to a study the chemical that is used for packaging food items may affect the sperm quality in men. Though the results of the study are not conclusive but the research was enough to create fears relating to the link between plastics and sperm quality.
More research is required to make sure that these findings are correct. Over the past few years, there has been an increased concern about the chemical bisphenol A (BPA) used for the packaging of certain drinks and food articles. There are also fears that this may affect hormone levels.
The most significant fear prevalent regarding this chemical was its possible affect on babies, through the medium of plastic milk bottles or through the mother’s diet during pregnancy. There was, however, no conclusive proof of this either.
There was a study conducted on animals which revealed that BPA may have an effect on men’s sperm quality. But, till this date, no research has been done to establish a link between the levels of BPA and sperm quality in the body.
