The latest data released today has shown that Australian job advertisements in newspapers and on the internet registered a 1.3% rise, marking an 18-month high in July.
ANZ Banking Group, which compiles the statistics from major newspapers outlined that the net advertisements figures marked a jump to 171,685 per week calculated on an average basis, leading to a 36.1% annual climb.
ANZ Chief Economist Warren Hogan explains, "This result highlights Australia's resilience amid the uncertain global economic backdrop. Australian employers still appear upbeat about Australia's economic prospects despite heightened external risks".
The number of job advertisements on the internet marked a climb 1.3% in July over June figures, attributing to an annual rise of 37.6% in seasonally adjusted terms, while that in newspapers in Australia climbed 1.2% last month, contributing to a 14.5% annual increase in seasonally adjusted terms.
In addition, the job market has been witnessed to remain firm and unperturbed by the strong interest-rate hike introduced over the last year, Mr. Hogan explained.
The month of June witnessed a spectacular 353,000 net new jobs emerging, with analysts' auguring to witness another climb of around 20,000 in the June jobs report due on Thursday.
