Gillard Says, Strong Economy at the Centre of Everything

Gillard Says, Strong Economy at the Centre of EverythingAt the Rooty Hill RSL in western Sydney, Prime Minister Julia Gillard was asked a lot of questions like the expulsion of ex-Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, health, education, gay marriage and the issue of trust.

Ms. Gillard was posed these questions, before the arrival of Opposition Leader Tony Abbott. She told the audience that continuing to keep the economy stable is "at the centre of everything".

Ms. Gillard said that as a Prime Minister, she has an economic plan for the country, but she doesn't think that Mr. Abbott has any economic plan to make the economy robust.

She said, "This is all about your choice, who you want to lead the country - you'll be thinking about the past, you'll be thinking about the future."

Ms. Gillard added that she intends to fulfill all the promises that she has made during the time of campaign.

After her, Tony Abbott took the stage to respond to queries coming from unsure voters. A $750 million Murray-Darling river proposal, which Mr. Abbott declared in South Australia today, will be taken to the forum.

It was reported that Ms. Gillard had challenged Mr. Abbott last week, for a discussion on the economy, but Mr. Abbott had declined the offer.
