Officers from India's Ministry of Home Affairs and the Department of Telecommunications conducted an official meeting on Thursday, in order to talk about security concerns in relation to Blackberry services, as informed by the two Government officers.
An anonymous DoT officer informed reporters that no conclusion could be made, however no details in regards to the same was offered by this officers.
A Home Ministry Bureaucrat, asking not to be identified, said that officers from India's Intelligence Bureau, National Technical Research Organization, DoT and telecommunication services provider operating in local areas, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd., also were present at the meeting.
The National Technical Research Organization is a Governmental unit that operates concerning technology, which is related to security concerns.
The same source also added that envoys from Blackberry manufacturer, Research in Motion Ltd. and private telecom operators were not a part of the meeting, since it was meant only for a few selective groups.
It is expected that the Home Ministry will inform Home Minister, P. Chidambaram about the developments that took place in the later parts of the day.
RIM officers did not divulge any information in regards to the discussions that took place between Mr. Chidambaram, Telecom Department and the Home Ministry.
