Verizon Wireless has proclaimed the release of Motorola Droid 2 followed by a trail of leaks of price, specs and release date.
Officials state that the device has been released today, with online pre-sales gearing up the charts.
The company claims that this new offering will be available under Motorola's flagship and will be selling for $200 with 2-year contract, or $600 without the contract offering.
In further reports it was stated that the Droid 2 shares the same looks like its older brother, of course with a few key differences. This version of Droid boasts of a powerful 1GHz processor and has twice the RAM capacity, with a revamped keypad. This up gradation goes in sync with the complaints marked stating the about the slide-out keypad, which seemingly is out of center and comes with a directional pad which is a useless addition.
Droid 2 comes with a centrally located keypad.
The Droid 2 brings in Android 2.2 Froyo, and has a new Motorola "skin" just like the Droid X.
These and few more add to the benefits of the device.
