Time for the Political Leaders to Act, say Protestors

climate changePepe Clarke, the head of the Nature Conservation Council of New South Wales says that they have had done enough to curb the menace and that it was high time for the political leaders to act.

Its been five years now, that the annual Walk Against Warming is being held with the organizers stressing on the need for reduced emissions and calling for a price on pollution.

This year the year's event has been timed to coincide with the federal election campaign says Toby Hutcheon, Queensland Conservation Council spokesman. He holds that they want the community to realize that it was time to change raise voices and call upon the next Australian Government; a Government who would take up the issue and act accordingly.

Protests are being carried out and marches are taking place around Australian to complain about the lack of any political action against climate change.

The street of Brisbane was full of, nearly 3000 supporters of the annual Walk against Warming raising their concerns for the tackling of climate change.

The Catch cries included "What do we want, renewable energy; when do we want it, now, and the optimistic, No coal, no oil, we don’t want our world to boil”.
