About 100 protesters have rallied in front of the California offices of Google to protest against the two tier internet plan of the search giant. The plan of two tier internet is a proposal of altering the technique of data treatment over the internet.

According to Google, this new plan would allow the internet providers to give more attention to certain online traffic. The people protesting against Google have said that the plan would create a pay-to-pay service which is different from the motto of Google.

According to experts, the web companies like Google have been benefited from the free and open internet services and this plan would hamper them. Many public and consumer advocacy groups are taking part in the protest.

The companies have made plans for a fast lane with a tier for premium content. This could result the users to pay for using the internet in the 21st century.

The proposals were proposed buy the search giant Google and the telecom firm Verizon. The plans would undermine the principle of internet neutrality where all the web data would be treated as the same.
