Gartner's report, states that the sale of two amongst the top five have posted a dip in sale of units, where the top slot is occupied with Nokia, RIM and Samsung being the ones to claim a solid growth.

Apart from the top five Apple is considered to be one of the firms which shall grow over its rivals and shall soon be entering the top five phone manufacturers worldwide.

Gartner reports claim that Apple's shipments rose over 60 percent year on year while Motorola and Sony Ericsson, witnessed a dip with their handsets and were also ahead of Apple.

Apple who sold 3.3 million extra handsets in order to attain the 30 million iPhones sold for 2010.

Experts claim that the comparison is still low when compared to overall number of mobile devices sold in the second quarter of 2010; 325.5 million units were shipped during that period making it likely that 1.3 billion units will be sold, as stated by an official.
