Half of the Kiwis Planning to Make Overseas Trips

Half of the Kiwis Planning to Make Overseas TripsAs per a recent Fly Buys/Colmar Brunton Mood of the New Zealand Traveler Survey, around half of the New Zealanders are making plans for a foreign trip within the next six months.

The survey showcased that 45% or 144,000 people revealed that they will be flying abroad for a holiday in the coming time period.

The Tourism Industry Association released the survey, as per which, 18% of the respondents told that they had already made bookings for their tickets or lodging for their holiday in foreign lands. The figure is higher from February 2010's figure of 13%.

Also, 84% of the respondents liked to take at least one night holiday within New Zealand only, which is higher than the prior figure of 81%.

As stated by Lance Walker, Chief Executive of Fly Buys, the results of the survey showed that travelling to foreign countries had become easier. Adding to this, he told that Australia is the most favored holiday spot for many, with United States ranking at the second place and the classic island escapes of Fiji and Rarotonga taking the third place.

Colmar Brunton, Chief Executive, Harry Pappafloratos said, "Shopping is also a favorite holiday past time, with 55 percent of Kiwis planning on travelling abroad intending to hit the shops".

He also added that New Zealanders' holidays generally include visiting to families and friends and 60% of the trips are made for such personal visits only. Wellington is the most preferred place within the country.
