Hulu's IPO plans to meet Wall Street's cautious approach

Hulu's IPO plans to meet Wall Street's cautious approachExpectations that the IPO of Hulu will be met with open arms faced the same fate as the issue. Wall Street followed a very cautious approach towards the same.

The total worth of the issue was $2 billion and was the first of its kind from Hollywood after the public offering of DreamWorks Animation that came out in 2004.

No wonder then that there high hopes from it after the news was first reported by New York Times on Monday.

Analysts believe that whatever interest Hulu has been able to generate is because the firm is looked upon as the last remaining in the growth sector of online video and entertainment industry. They anticipate that the status for the IPO is going to be 'decent' and/or 'moderate'.

Moreover, the issue has come in a time when the markets are facing a volatile time and there are fears that the economic recovery will lead to double-dip recession.

Hulu, is a joint venture of NBC Universal, News Corp., Disney and private equity firm Providence.

The money it generates is going to be used in the existence of its business.
