The world's biggest disk-drive motor maker, Nidec Corp has said that it will be buying Emerson Electric Co. This is being done so that Nidec is able to expand its home appliances and automobile related business in US.
Money for the deal which will be between 60 billion yen and 70 billion yen will be paid in form of cash September 30 is scheduled to be the deadline date for finishing the deal.
Japan's Nidec which is looking forward to tripling its sales by going outside Asia and US is one of the major markets for this purpose. Nidec has already taken over Itlay's Sole Motors and will now be using the factories and research facilities of the company.
Analysts believe that the acquisition will be followed by synergy and that the forward-looking steps that it is taking are really going to help the company in future.
Nidec has been constantly going for inorganic growth and has had 14 takeovers in the last 5 years. These are going to increase the sales by 2 trillion yen by 2016.
Post the declaration, shares of Nidec went up by 5 per cent to end at 7,510 yen on the Osaka Securities Exchange.
