On Thursday, Lenovo Group Ltd. reported that it has returned to profits in the first-quarter, compared to last year when it had suffered a net loss.
This rebound in profits has been possible due to an increase in the shipments of PCs and as it had turned its attention to consumer items.
The Company posted a net profit of US$54.86 million for the quarter that ended June 30, than a net loss of US$16.01 million that it had experienced the previous year. Five analysts had predicted US$53.2 million profits for the firm, but it was able to surpass their forecast by a small margin.
China's biggest personal computer manufacturer by shipments said that it is hopeful regarding the universal PC market. It feels that corporate houses demand for new PCs will definitely see a surge by the end of this year.
There was a 49.6% swell in the Company's revenues, from US$3.46 billion to US$5.15 billion. And it was possible due to a soar in the shipments of PCs.
Lenovo said that its PC shipments increased 48.1% from last year and it was able to beat the industry's increase rate of around 20.9% during the quarter.
