Nvidia Corp. has blamed the global economic downturn as it has suffered a widened net loss in the second quarter of the continuing financial year. Low demand of the products manufactured by the company is the main reason behind its quarterly loss.
The firm has informed that, its loss in the reviewed quarter was $141 million or 25 cents per share. For the same period of time, the loss was $105.3 million or 19 cents per share in the previous year.
According to the company officials, the economic weakness had changed consumers buying behavior in this period of time. They preferred cheaper alternatives to its high-end graphics chips.
So far as revenue of the firm is concerned, it has touched $811.2 million in the June quarter of the year against $776.5 million in its like period a year ago. There has been a hike of 4.5% in the revenue of the firm in this reviewed quarter against its preceding year.
