An XDA Developer forum member Armin Coralic, has successfully installed GNU Linux Kernel based Ubuntu operating system on Samsung Galaxy S phone and until now it works just fine.

It was merely a week back when Coralic, through his blog enlightened how to develop a chroot environment for ARM architecture based processors and run Ubuntu Linux OS.

It seems that the present version of OS is derived from the earlier versions. This soon was progressed to a methodical approach towards having Ubuntu on Galaxy S.

Many enthusiasts have even posted videos of the same showing how to install Ubuntu on Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 smartphone.

For the ones who aim to create a direct image file, Coralic has offered a link to download the version for the same. It is said that it comes as an initial port, still we suspect if all the parts of Ubuntu are properly functional. Thus, it is suggested to go through the manual in order to actually get a hands-on the device.
