According to reports, Apple is looking to fix a number of issues with its mobile devices by the way of its forthcoming software update for its earlier-this-month released iOS, which is currently in its third beta.
The iOS 4.1 software update will reportedly address a number of issues being experienced by users of Apple’s mobile devices. These issues will reportedly include problems with the iPhone 4 proximity sensor and Bluetooth connectivity.
In addition, the most recent update also boasts the addition of new features like a new API that facilitates apps in accessing contact thumbnail pictures; a new modem firmware of 2.10.01; capabilities that allow apps to control fonts; and new methods for developers to save images to a user's photo album.
Meanwhile, going by a MacRumors report, Apple CEO Steve Jobs has supposedly responded to an iPhone 3G owner’s complaint that v4.0.1 and v4.0.2 failed to address performance issues related to iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G. Though Jobs refrained from divulging any details, he wrote: “Software update coming soon.”
Though Apple is yet to officially announce a date for the iOS 4.1 update, the company has recently acknowledged that it was looking into reports of problems running iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G. Most of the complaints that have been put forth by the iPhone 3G users largely include problems with frustratingly sluggish speed, battery drain, and overheating.
