The much talked new Motorla phone called the Droid Pro is claimed to be nothing but the global re-tooled version of the Motorola Droid 2, which was unveiled by Verizon on August 12, Tech website Engadget reported.
In addition, the tech website annulled the earlier claims made by several sites about the phone’s wide array of spectacular features including 1.3GHz CPU, 4-inch screen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, global roaming support, and the most hyped a front-facing camera.
Droid Pro and Droid 2 Global Edition have exactly the same set of features, except it will additionally feature GSM and CDMA radios.
Chris Ziegler, Senior Mobile Editor for Engadget, has claimed that Motorola Droid Pro is the global version of the Motorola Droid 2 handset, which was earlier decided to bear the name Milestone 2.
The Motorola’s Droid family has more or less failed to grab customers. The major problem with the series is that it is only available on Verizon, which supports CDMA wireless networks. Hence, the phone is of no use if one takes it overseas.
However, presently Motorola and Verizon are revealed to be in process to fix this minor issue and come up with a more expensive entry to the Droid family.
