Consumers Cautious About Salmonella

egg producerFederal officials have claimed the Iowa egg producer to be the epicenter of a salmonella outbreak in the region. The Company has faced a recall of more than a half-billion eggs. Besides, it has paid huge fines and has been a hit of several complaints over health and safety violations.

With the recall of over 380 million eggs, consumers seem to be inhibited towards eating egg or food product containing eggs.

The eggs recalled under the Aug. 13 issue include those from Wright County Egg packed by Iowa under the labels Lucerne, Albertsons, Mountain Dairy, Ralphs, Boomsma's, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farm and Kemps.

In addition, eggs from Wright County Egg packaged under the labels Albertsons, Farm Fresh, James Farms, Glenview, Mountain Dairy, Ralphs, Boomsma's, Lund, Kemps and Pacific Coast, are included under the recent recall announced Wednesday.

As per the authority reports, eggs should be fully cooked in order to ensure safety as thorough cooking kills salmonella bacteria. However, cross-contamination could crop an issue.
