According to the information forwarded to CVG by NetherRealm Studio producer Hector Sanchez, a ‘Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter’ (MK vs. SF) game is “inevitable” – thereby underline the prospects of the ultimate dream ticket for avid gamers!
Sanchez also added that the chances of a MK vs. SF game will increase further depending upon a few conditions – the main one among them being the “the success of Street Fighter X Tekken.”
Noting that the idea of coming up with a MK vs. SF game is not an entirely new one, Sanchez told Gamescom reported Rory Smith that the MK-SF team-up was first proposed by MK series creator Ed Boon, nearly a decade back.
According to Sanchez, despite the fact that ‘Street Fighter X Tekken’ is apparently heading in the direction of success, there are still some hurdles that MK vs. SF bout may have to cross before it can become a noteworthy contender.
Elaborating further, Sanchez said: “Obviously there are problems with that. I'm not sure Capcom would be happy with Scorpion ripping Ken's head off.”
Meanwhile, with new Mortal Kombat launching on the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms in the 2011 first half, Ed Boon from NetherRealm Studios said that the forthcoming game is capable of adjustments without the need for big patches; and can thus overcome the supposedly unavoidable character tiers issue of most of the fighting games!
