Hormel Foods Corp. has informed that it has a superior net income in the April-June quarter of the current financial year of 2010-11. It has said in a statement that its net income has gone up to 11% in the reviewed quarter against its year ago like period.

Hormel Foods Corp. is the maker of some of the popular food item brands like Spam, Dinty Moore etc.

The company has posted a net income of $85.4 million or 63 cents per share for the quarter that ended in 30th June, 2010. For the similar quarter in the preceding year, the firm had posted a net income of $77.2 million or 57 cents per share.

Earlier, it has been expected that, the company may post a net income of 60 cents per share in this quarter.

The revenue of the company has gone up $1.73 billion during the April-June quarter of fiscal year 2010-11.

It was recorded $1.57 billion for its corresponding quarter in the preceding year. There has been a hike of 10% in the revenue figure in the June quarter this year against its like period a year ago.
