Researchers from Sweden have established that people binging on fat food later have to face tough time getting rid of that extra fleshy load on the hips and this has a long term effect on the body weight.
The team said that for a moment the lips seem to be lost in the delicious taste of fast food, but it leaves a strain of fat content inside the body that is clearly evident on the hips later on.
People who ate fast food for four weeks and more often than not indulged in exercise or workout on a standard basis gained 6.4 kg of weight.
The Linkoping University study said that two years later, the same individuals exhibited signs of increased body fat that were yet noticeable.
The study findings have been published in the journal Nutrition& Metabolism. While carrying out the study, 18 participants partaking in the study constrained their physical activity to a mere 5,000 steps per day, which is considered to be equal to an inactive lifestyle.
Six months later after having increased their consumption of energy-dense food stuff by 70%, the volunteers lost around 5 kg.
After twelve months, however, their weight rose by 1.5 kg.
An increase in fat mass was also noticed while the study was on.
