Firms expedite hiring plans

The quarterly Hudson hiring expectations report has pointed out that signs of economic recovery has raised hiring plans by a large number of recruiters. This indicates rise in employer's confidence level who have realized pickup in demand as customers have started to place orders.

The survey claims that 21.9 per cent of hiring managers admitted the need of more permanent staff in the next three months. Some firms may soon start hiring process to meet the expectations of clients.

Westpac Economist Dominick Stephens said that market would continue to improve. He added, "We have already seen a number of anecdotes that employment is picking up, although whether it is enough to offset population growth and actually reduce unemployment is another matter."

Almost all industries including IT wished to increase staff strength to cater growing needs of industry. Stephens hoped that construction industry would become a leading employment provider by next year.
