Regardless of reporting a flat turnover and a drop in the proceeds in its initial half of the year, Wood Group, which is the oil and gas service heavyweight, said that it was optimistic about second half of the year and the upcoming year, because of mounting confidence.
Allister Langlands, who is the Wood’s Chief Executive said that development would be instigated if there is demand for oil from nations like China, India and America whilst demand from western economies was not going to become too active for quite some time.
Although, the firm that is based in Aberdeen gets its 4% proceeds from deep water operations in the Gulf, the Chief of the firm said that the effect of the existing ban on offshore drilling, after the historical catastrophe, would continue to linger around and press hard upon the firm’s trade scenario.
However, he made a note that optimistic regulation regardless of the disaster that took place would help boost up the firm in a lot of ways.
He said that markets are going to be more regulated from now on, and better regulation at times leads to improved demands for services that are rendered from firms like it.
