Some news reports suggest that the US newspaper, Washington Times may be bought back by its old owner, Rev. Sun Myung Moon. He has taken it back from his eldest son and former Times staffer, Preston Moon.
Sun is also the founder of the newspaper and the reports were first published in Washington Post. He has taken this step since Preston was threatening to close down Washington Times and later on the whole broadsheet since the struggling company was failing to revive.
Sun is currently 90 and is said to have tapped Dong Moon Joo, who was the former Chairman of Times for taking over the helm. Dong was thrown out by Preston last year.
No comments came from any of the parties involved with the whole situation.
The daily newspaper was started in 1982 by Unification Church founder Rev. Moon. He had sold it off so as to reduce the cost on the whole company which is facing financial crunch. They had cut staff including some key members.
No comments came from the managing members of the newspapers as well.
