Hormel Foods Corp has informed that it has managed to register a profit in the second quarter of the current financial year.
It has announced its second quarter financial results for the fiscal 2010-11. According to the report, higher-priced refrigerated and specialty foods have been the main reason for the net profit rise of the company in this reviewed quarter.
Moreover, the firm has spend the most in its advertising part in this three months of time which has also helped to rise the revenue up.
The net income of the company has gone up to $85.4 million or 63 cents per share during the April-June quarter of fiscal year 2010-11. Earlier, in the same quarter last year, it was recorded $77.2 million or 57 cents per share.
However, it was expected that the firm may post a net income of 60 cents per share in the quarter under review. Sales of the firm have gone up by 10% and have touched the figure of $1.73 billion in the second quarter of the fiscal year.
