Women's clothing retailer AnnTaylor Stores Corp has informed that it has posted a superior sales report in the second quarter of the year. The company has received better sales from its merchandise in various part of the globe.
The sales of the Ann Taylor chain have gone up by 19.6% in the second quarter of the year.
For the same period of time, the company had a decline of 38% in its sales figure in the previous year. According to company officials, the firm has a better sales record in the online segment as well and the overall sales figure has been quite impressive in the quarter under review.
The total sales of the company have gone up by 2.8 % and have touched $483.5 million during the April-June quarter of fiscal year 2010-11. However, it has just fallen short from the figure that the market experts have predicted earlier.
The net income of the firm was $18.6 million or 31 cents per share in the reviewed quarter. In its corresponding quarter last year it had suffered a loss of $18 million or 32 cents per share.
