Marks & Spencer confirms to close stores in three Lincolnshire towns

Marks-SpencerThe retailer chain Marks and Spencer has confirmed that it will close its stores in three Lincolnshire towns in next few times. As per the company, its branches at Scunthorpe, Skegness and Grantham will be closed in the early period of next year. People started their campaign to stop the closure of the stores in all the three towns and the store of Skegness has collected more than 20,000 signatures on a petition top stop the closure process.

But the retailer M&S has cleared that it had seen a fall in sales at the stores year after year and the three stores were no more commercially viable for the company. On the other hand, the former manager of the Skegness store, Avril Smith has said the company had taken a wrong decision to close the stores.

According to him it has been a very disappointing decision for the employees of the stores as well as for the people of the towns.

At least 110 employees will be affected by the closure of the stores. Experts described the decision of M&S as a grave mistake.
