Leading home-builder of the country, Persimmon has reported a rise in its profits of more than 10% after seeing a period of strong sales in the spring season.
The company has reported a pre-tax profit of 101.4 million pounds in the first six months of this year compared to 9.8 million pounds of the same time period of last year. The company has said that it was much focused on reducing the debts and increasing the margins.
The firm has also announced to pay dividend to its shareholders after suspending the payment in the previous year because of huge debts.
According to the company, its revenues has gone up by 27% and the average selling price went up by 8.6% to 168,936 pounds, meanwhile the completion also rose up by 16% to 4657. The firm has also said the housing sales had calmed down again in summer after seeing strong sales in the spring.
Even after the strong sales in spring, Persimmon is still cautious about its outlook and forecasts. The firm is hoping for annual sales volume growth to move steadily in the difficult economic situation.
