After winning over many users with its much popular Mobile Maps platform, Google is now all set to break into the GPS navigation market as it is all set to launch a turn-by-turn navigation application. The move, in addition to hitting many local and small scale GPA navigation systems and device providers, is also very likely to cause troubles at the headquarters of current rules of the GPS market - Garmin and TomTom.
The application, which could also be a bad news for the Apple iPhone and its GPS application, has been described as Forbes as an interesting new find. It will reportedly support voice-guided directions and will be available for free. The news has managed to stir-up markets and many believe it might interest even more customers into buying the Motorola Droid which is due for release anytime soon and has Google's latest Andriod 2.0 system.
In addition to the aforementioned features, Google's new GPS application, as its demo video has illustrated, will blend in Google Maps as well. Also, included are street views with traffic information.
Lately, turn-by-turn navigation systems and applications have been in great demand, with more and more iPhone users demanding the same. With the new offering, Google is all set to tap into a much profitable market.
