In cooperation of U. S. consumer product safety commission, about 69000 Sony VAIO notebook AC adaptors has been recalled due the short-circuit reports of the adaptors. As indicated, the failure of the insulation has resulted to the malfunctioning of Sony adaptor number VGP-AC19V17.
The Sony VGP-AC19V17 AC adapter shows up in computers from the company's VGC-LT, VGC-JS240, VGC-JS250, VGC-JS270, and VGC-JS290 series sold after September 2007. The adapter also appears in VGP-PRBX1 and VGP-PRFE1 notebook docking stations sold after September 2005.
Providentially, with no injuries and none of the incident from US, the company has received four reports of short-circuiting adapters till now.
Cautioning the consumers with affected systems to stop using the recalled AC adapters immediately, the company furthermore suggests finding out the information related to the impacted products in the company website and subsequently reaching out to toll-free at 877-361-4481 for free replacement.
The company is expected to fasten their knots after facing yet another short circuit report followed by the incident which occurred in 2008 related to Sony 73,000 VAIO notebooks because of "irregularly positioned wires" leading to short circuit.
