A latest research from Harvard University reveals the health benefits of fish oil stating that an active factor in fish oils known as DHA is compliant to reduce inflammation (caused when the immune system goes into "overdrive”) without affecting the immune system.
In the view of the study, the researchers consider that, fish oil ingredient has great impending as a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, sepsis and even stroke. According to the experimentation, the body converts fatty acid DHA in fish oils into a powerful anti-inflammatory biochemical called Resolvin D2.
The earlier research reports exposed that the glued white blood cells into the inner lining of body vessels had the immense participation in inflammatory process of the body, however the recent research has revealed the numerous of other significant outcomes.
As affirmed, "We have known for some time that fish oils can help with conditions like arthritis which are linked to inflammation. What we've shown here is how the body processes a particular ingredient of fish oils into Resolvin D2"; "This research is important because it explains at least one way in which fish oils can help in different types of arthritis. We can also work on this chemical and see if it can be used not only to treat or even prevent arthritis, but also as a possible treatment for a variety of other diseases associated with inflammation”, said Professor Mauro Perretti, from Queen Mary, University of London.
