According to a Thursday announcement by Best Buy, the Samsung ‘Fascinate’ – the Verizon version of the attractive Samsung Galaxy S line of handsets – becomes available for preorder from the store from August 29.

The new Verizon smartphone has been made available for booking by the members of the Best Buy Reward Zone since August 27.

The announcement also said that the preorders for the Samsung Fascinate – the release date and pricing details of which still remains undisclosed – will be accepted at the Best Buy stores as well as the Best Buy Mobile standalone stores.

Similar to its other Samsung Galaxy S counterparts – namely, the already-released T-Mobile Samsung ‘Vibrant’ and the AT&T Samsung ‘Captivate’; and the yet-to-come Sprint Samsung ‘Epic’ –, the Verizon Samsung Fascinate is also an Android-based handset, running version 2.1 of the increasingly popular Android operating system.

Some of the most striking features of the Samsung Fascinate include: a 4-inch, 854-by-480 Super AMOLED touchscreen; a 1-GHz processor; and the fast, clean and versatile custom Android User Interface TouchWiz 3.0.

In addition, the homescreen of the forthcoming Samsung Fascinate will feature Bing and Bing Maps.

Furthermore, the software of the Samsung Fascinate, which will also come with a distinct Blockbuster application, is a notable blend of contributions from Samsung, Google and Verizon. The home screen of the device features
