Apple has seen its lowest quarterly iPod sales since 2006

Apple has seen its lowest quarterly iPod sales since 2006 The technology giant Apple has seen the lowest quarterly sales of its iPod in the previous three months and it has been the lowest sales since 2006. Experts say Apple needs to refresh its iPod in order to attract people towards it.

The digital music player iPod has turned the computer making company Apple in to a technology firm and pushed it top the number one position in the technology world.

The drop in the sales of iPod has created fears for music industry as it aimed the iPod to boost the download industry. The sales figures for the quarter till the end of June suggest that 9 million units of iPod were sold in that period which is the lowest number since 2006.

Apple who started making of the iPod in 2001 October said it was not too worried about the sales of iPod and iPhone but the music industry is so much worried about this issue. The music industry is worried that people may lose their interest in downloading songs from the digital music stores.

The sales of the other devices of Apple are growing very fast but the demand of its stand alone digital music player has died off.
