The Venice film festival plans to compensate the probable lack of the influence and charm of stars through a remarkable list of fresh directors and with few of the most perplexing celebrities of Hollywood ensuring their presence during the 11 day festival commencing from the 1st of September.
While the oldest film festival is trying to win over the highly competitive Toronto film festival which is scheduled for the same dates, Venice has still succeeded in having the presence of the touchier Americans like Monte Hellman and Vincent Gallo to name just a few.
This festival can be very well be termed as an event with more number of eccentrics and oddities making headlines than celebrities from the movie world which is very evident with the head of jury being the uncontainable Quentin Tarantino as he will be giving away the most sought-after Golden Lion as the event culminates on the 11th of September.
With most of directors showcasing their movies at Venice below the age of 47, Venice evidently has the support of the young generation.
While the earlier years audience were far more star embossed, this year's list includes the likes of Tarantino, Natalie Portman, Ben Affleck , Helen Mirren and Catherine Deneuve.
