The pronouncement regarding the genetically altered fish being healthy for consumption is yet to be delivered by the health officers of United States. With this verdict being a positive one, customers will be provided with genetically modified fish on their palate for the first time in history.

The fish is being produced by Aqua Bounty Technologies Inc. and have been reported to grow at double the rate of normal growth of a fish.

While this is anticipated to enhance the fish industry in the country and to an extent prevent the environment from further damage, specialists of food protection have expressed their concerns that reverse might happen with more damage caused to environment from the splicing and dicing of the genes of the fish and these genetically altered fish dodging into the environment with rapid increase in the industrialized husbandry.

While the fish has not proven to be benign, the side effects of the fish is also not discovered as of yet. The recent recall of eggs in enormous quantity has also gave rise to apprehensions about customers accepting industrialized food at a time when they are preferring food made in their close vicinity to a great extent.
